I don't know what to do, I have been put in a terrible situation. One of my old friends has a one year old baby and last week her best friend called me concearned because the mother was doing ACID! I knew that she smoked weed on occasion and thought about contacting DHS but the baby's grandmother wound up taking care of the baby. The grandma overdosed on ambian....so now the baby is back with her mother...who like i said is doing drugs. I know that she is good to the baby, but who the h**l knows what she is going to do when she is tripping...or what will happen when those people are around? I know i need to get ahold of them, but i don't know this girls address or anything. If i gave them the name of her work and her first and last name would that be enough? Is there anything else i should do in this situation?

  1. you're doing the right thing.  from her name, and where she works, they will be able to get the info.

  2. http://www.smith-lawfirm.com/mandatory_r...

this site lists phone #s for every state to report child abuse and/or neglect. seems to be very helpful. good luck. you are doing the right thing.

  3. you should definatly cal DHS even if the mother treats the child well drug addicted people are unpredictable and when they invite other drug users into their home that can be very dangerous for the baby

ring DHS and tell them what you know and they will ask some questions and just answer what you can

they need to be made aware of it

and you will know you have done soemthing to help that child

  4. I would recommend giving them a call and just letting them know what you know and they can take it from there. They will best advise you. Just call and ask to speak to child protection intake and explain the situation. They may not even look at the case as it's only hearsay but you never know
