Question:

Advice on hotels in Mauritius?

We are thinking of a week in Mauritius. We don't want a golf hotel or evening entertainment or anything organised. My husband has been before and remembers a hotel with individual thatched huts on the beach but can't remember the name of the hotel (!) - can anyone recommend somewhere?

  1. when I was there amny years ago they all had thatched chalets, my favourite hotels were the La Pirouge, in the south  Tros beach in the west and St Geran in the north east(Very pricey) but there many smaller hotels much cheaper.  The best place to go is either Rosehill or Curepipe, they are up in the hills and very central to the whole island, you may find it very hot and humid staying at sea level at the beach hotels

Enjoy a marvelous experience, the people are fantastic and the scenery is gorgeous

  2. Thnk it might have been La Pirogue Hotel

  3. Do you at least remember on what part of the island was the hotel situated? south? north?

Well, Mauritius is full of hotels. You can make an internet search and try to find some information.  In case you are interested in mountain huts, check the following website

    Have a good time.
