Question:

Advice on how to clean interlocking foam mats.?

We have a children's store and our flooring is the interlocking puzzle mats. We were just wondering if anyone could give us advice on how to clean them. Right now we are having to get down on our hands and knees, but there has to be some other way. The swiffer does not work, nor a mop. We are looking at possibly getting the steam mop or a floor cleaner like the Hoover Floormate or IRobot Scubba. Just wondering if anyone out there has any ideas or experience.

  1. I lay mine outside use a scrubing brush some soapy water and a little disinfectant.  I do this about once every two months, the rest of the time I vacuum and spot clean when required.

Handy tip is to put them in the slots of the deck railing to get them dry.

  2. hose off with soapy water outside -make it a fun activity for the family!

  3. I would soak them in a mixture of warm water and dish soap if you can.  I know it seems time consuming, but that might be your best bet.  For spot cleaning the steam mop would work well.
