Advice on parking fine?

Question

I got a parking ticket for being 4 minutes over,I appealed and lost so I paid the fine by cheque. the cheque was cashed on 4/7. Then on 10/8 almost six weeks later got a letter saying bailiff action for non payment.

when I rang up they said they recieved the cheque to late.I sent the cheque on 26/6 and they said that it was not recieved untill the 1/7 and I would have to pay the double penalty. I thought because the cheque was cashed the fine was paid, any help appreciated

blame the mail carrier for this one.

You could request a court hearing. On advice for how to behave in court to win your case (it should be pretty easy) read up on it on the blog spot below. As long as you present your case clearly you will be fine.

it is paid once the cheque is cashed. write back and ask the case to be heard in court
