I'm having trouble falling asleep. I am wide awake until about twelve o'clock at night. Then, I feel so tired that I sleep until noon. Do you have any advice I could use?

Thanks:)

  1. well wht i do is i stop brething for a while  and then i get dizzy so i close my eyes and take a deep breth and withi n 5 min im sleeping

  2. Natural remedies include warm milk, melatonin, valerian, 5-HTP and others that you can find in a web search for "natural sleep remedies".

  3. Gradually start moving your bedtime up, try an hour earlier every night until you get to a reasonable bedtime.  Don't exercise or listen to loud music for a couple of hours before bed, no caffeine after 2 or 3 PM.  Put a fan or noise machine in your room, and follow a bedtime routine.  Ex, take a bath, change into pajamas, read something boring, etc.

  4. just close your eyes and don't open them

and think that your really sleepy and tired

  5. This worked for me.

Lay in a comfortable position, eyes closed.

Imagine your toes relaxing, falling asleep, relaxing...

    Move to your feet....

    Legs....

    Knees....

    Ect.

After your whole body is relaxed, just lie there. You will probably fall asleep. Even if you don't, you will be so relaxed that your body will be resting, sleeping, even if your concious mind isn't.

Try drinking a tea called something like 'sleepytime' (I can't remember the exact name) warm right before bed. No caffeine past lunch!

Set your alarm clock 1/2 an hour earlier each night, until it is set at 8 or 9 am. Getting up earlier will help you get to sleep earlier.

If none of this works, you may want to book a check up with your doctor.

  6. Drink camomile tea, it will help calm you and make you feel relax. Try to read a book. That might help.

  7. Try doing some yoga, or some deep breathing, meditative exercises. Or try over-the counter, Melatonin, found in the vitamin aisle. Try closing your eyes and creating your dream house in your mind, pay attention to detail, mine has a grotto...lol
