  1. of course he does he has got to nominate the colour he is going for

  2. Yes. In a friendly game a nod towards the ball as you are cueing up normally suffices but in a tournament it is best call the colour before you actually play.

  3. I would tend to let the opponent know , just out of courtesy really ......Sometimes you may hear the ref on TV say yellow ball or whatever.  The player has told the ref his plan....

If he doesn't and there is two colours close to each other  the ref is i would think quite within his rights to call a foul of the highest point value

However if the player is on a maximum for example  he would not need to    as the colour is obvious  its black

  4. Just checked with my wife who spent a lot of time on the road doing PR stuff with the pro snooker circuit, and she says they do have to declare the colour in cases where it's not immediately obvious.

  5. A player has to nominate which colour he is going for unless it's blatantly obvious. In a competition, to a referee or in a friendly, to the opponent(s).

I know a man who doesn't ....he's a bit of a cheat. If snookered, he will go for a colour without nominating, if he hits a colour he then claims it's the one he was aiming for. People have become wise to this and always ask him BEFORE he takes the shot. Then there can be no arguments.

  6. should nominate it  unless your playing friendly and you should no what colour going for

  7. Not unless it is not obvious. but if it is i.e there is no other colour ball near then it is not deemed a foul

  8. They should always tell the opponent which ball they intend to pot next.

  9. If there are several colours which could be hit from the same position then you should nominate the colour, but if there is only one possible colour it probably isn't always done, but it is common courtesy to nominate a colour regardless.

  10. i think you should nominate cos if you potted one by fluke you really werent playing for that shot and wouldnt be a legal move

  11. Yes

  12. The rules state that you are only required to nominate when it is unclear which ball you have selected, or in the case of a free ball situation where you MUST nominate, even if it is obvious which ball you are going for.

  13. the player who is at the table MUST always nominate a colour after potting a red and also once all reds have gone and a clearance is on the cards.

  14. download from the internet learn them off by heart then you dont have to ask again hahahaha

  15. Players tend to only nominate when 2 or more balls are close together, in case they hit the wrong one.

  16. if the its not perfectly clear what the colour is that the player is goin for then YES the player should nominate
