Advice on snowboarding jackets.....?

buying my new bf a snowboarding jacket for his birthday.... what brands are best? not too bulky? certian style? color? need a guys perspective... hes 23

Most of the young guys that I ride with like the plaid jackets - I would suggest staying away from bright colors, they usually like the brown, black, etc and the camo prints are also very popular. Make sure to get one that can be exchanged!
