  1. your mum can get ti all here.  Tell her to go to the nearest supersol supermarket. they sell british bacon, pork sausages, kingsmill, warbutons bread etc... they have it all in spain.  it's not like it was 20 yrs ago.  bacon will not be allowed in the country she will get fined.  they can be quite hefty

  2. I live in Spain and often have legs of lamb brought in by my friends and family (I hate the Spanish lamb ! ).  There have never been a problem and they have never had any items confiscated.  They put all the foodstuffs into the case and NOT in hand luggage.  Your mum can get English bread such as Kingsmill, Warburtons, Jacksons etc.  She can also get English bacon, although the Spanish bacon is yummi ! ! !  There are huge supermarkets here, even Carrefour  ! !  I hope she has a good holiday.  The weather is getting hotter.  I live in Javea approx 1 hour (North) away from Alicante.

  3. Better tell her to eat and enoy our Jamon Serrano

  4. Best thing to do would be to phone the airline and ask them

  5. don't you worry. bring sausages etc with you, mum. only no bird meat. friend of mine from ire brings his son in valencia every month what he misses from back home

  6. plenty supermarkets over there, she doesent need to take anything.plus food is cheaper.

  7. 1) It's illegal, she will get it confiscated PLUS a fine.

    2) Spain is very cosmopolitan, you can get everything from Kellogg's cornflakes to MacDonald's. She can buy what she wants in any local supermarket in Spain, why carry it all the way there in a suitcase?

  8. She won't get the bacon into the country if customs search her - not allowed. If caught she could be fined - not worth it - they do have nice bacon over there anyway.

Allowed items - Pasta, Tinned produce, Bread, things like that

NO FRESH PRODUCE - vegetables etc , meat.

  9. What planet is she on?

We even have flush toilets and lifts now! And do you know, the Spanish even eat bread they've made themselves

There is a mass of 'British' supermarkets here awash with English products, T bags, bread and bacon included.

All the brands she buys in the UK are available here, at a hugely inflated price of course but beggars belief on why anyone would want to eat the cruddy food the english produce let alone bring it over here.

And before you ask, I am english and live in Spain, and rarely eat anything with a British label on, about the only thing I ever buy is Tetley T bags. We have a wealth of fresh fruit, veg, meat and fish here and is a far better diet than the avearge english one!

Tell your mother  to get a life! BTW, Its Alicante as well

  10. Please don't bring the bacon mum!!! It could really spoil her holiday if she was caught. Yes she will find decent bacon when she is there and it will be fresher than a pack lingering in a suitcase for hours, and can you imagine how squished the bread would be....!

  11. I cannot understand why anyone should take bacon and bread to Spain.

    THey do have both there.

If we are talking about some unique bacon of the ' I knew the pig' type, that is one thing.

But industrial bread and bacon is availble everywhere.

THOUGHT. How do the Spanish put the little bits of bone in some bacons?

P.S. She will not get into trouble if the bacon is of EU origin. Bread..........who cares.
