Question:

Advice on throwing a cinco de mayo party?

Last year I shelled out way too much cash and time on making everything at home and serving it.

I thought about catering this year but that seems pricey too.

Maybe going to Costco would be cheapest?

I'm not going to supply everything like I did last year so what are some of the basics I should get and what's the cheapest way to do it?

  1. 1) l**k the salt

    2) Shoot the tequila

    3) Bite the lime

    4) Sip the beer

  2. Will you serve alcohol?  If you do have alcohol you should have at least one of following types of beer: Tecate, Dos Equis, Corona, ***** Modelo, Pacifico Clara, or have your guests bring this.

You have to have beans, guacamole, and chips for sure.  How about a pinata?

Do you have a local Mexican restaurant that isn't a chain?  They might be cheaper if you want to cater some of it.

How about just making tacos?  Get the pre made taco shells, shredded cheese, chopped tomatoes, onions, and then the meat.  Maybe just do one main dish?

    Good luck!
