I wanted to purchase Gruber's Complete SAT Guide 2008 from Amazon for $13, but the 2005 edition is A LOT cheaper if I buy the used ones (like $2+) Which one should I purchase? Do the new editions REALLY differ from the older ones? >__<

  1. the old ones wont help you because the SAT has changed...so i would suggest not getting the old copy.

The new SAT has a top score of 2400, and its with writing section, and that probably wont be in the old version of the prep books.

but really you cant study for the SAT...its basically what you know..and the books will only give you test taking tips, and some practice tests ...thats pretty much it.

    good luck .=]

  2. Yes, the two SAT prep books do differ (I am assuming) because the entire SAT test has changed since then, mainly grading which is now out of 2400. I don't think the topics would be different, though.

I would also recommend looking into purchasing this book:

Cracking the SAT, 2008 Edition (College Test Prep) (Paperback)

    More expensive, but worth it.

Here is the link from Amazon:

    Good luck!
