Difficult question need advice....?

I've been on the tennis varsity for the last 3 years and i have been captain the last year. It's now my senior year and i feel like i don't wan to do it anymore. Point is i don't get taught at the practices or the meets, all we do is hit the ball around. In addition, although i am catain this girl has shoved her way to run the team her own way. and finally, i don't get any enjoyment out of playing in the meets where we have to travel 2 hours generally to get places and play and come back. Usually i end up sepding more time waiting and traveling rather than playing tennis. point is i know it will look good for colleges if i say i am on the tennis varsity team for 4 years. But i know that if i stay its only for that reason.... i am growin gto hate the game because of being on the team.... i don't think its really worth it. I love tennis, and i am good. Idn what to do. Stay in it.... or leave the team and somehow pursue it on my own time?

  1. I will tell you honestly, if staying will get you into a better college and make your future better then stay. It is such a short time but it could help you in a big way.

I can tell you are smart because you are thinking about this and not just quitting. All that spare time in between games, read a book etc. occupy your time and at practice, think of it as good exercise and have some fun mental images going on in your head to give you a smile or laugh.

    attitude is the key..

  2. Don't quit.  Playing 3 years and quitting will look bad on the application.  Sticking with something and seeing it through to the end is an impressive characteristic rather than being someone who gives up.  It may not be fun but it will pay dividends.

  3. stay

and look for tennis tounaments that you can sign up for and if you win maybe you can get intoo a good collage

lots of tennis tounaments have scouts looking for people

  4. you are the captain and should definitely have control of the team. i am sure your teammates respect you for considering everyone, cuz that is what captains do. so the girl who is "taking" over should not be much of a problem, just another voice to vote on. if you are not happy with the team.. then you can start your own team/club that revolves around tennis. and if the varsity team girls prefer you as a captain that the other "taking" over girl, they will follow you. wish you the best. :D
