Advice to a Beginning Rugby Captitan.?

Me and my buddy will be running our college teams rugby practices this year. Any advice on workouts or drills or general Rugby teaching advice.

We are in an american college mens league.

  1. Have your most experienced forward teach the forwards, the most experienced back teach the backs. Your scrumhalf works with both. Basics, lineouts use and run plays, short or long. Ruck, Maul quickly. the scrum is difficult concentrate time with that. Your scrumhalf doesn't always have to pull the ball out the 8man can pick it up to. Wingers have speed to chase a kicked ball and contain to the outside. Fullback good fielder, kicker, and tackler. Play your strengths. Take advantage of penalties, remember refs play advantage so make sure you players have good awareness. Make it brutal fun! Plus work on drop kicks they pay off!
