I'm 21 years old and my wife is 20. She took the asvab test the other and got a pretty good score. Soon she'll have to go to basic training... and after that?? I want to know from other guys that are civilians married to a military woman how it is...!! I mean I always hear about men in the army and the women being "the civilian", its a little embarrassing to me though...!! I'm looking for good advices and not ridiculous comments like "she'll probably leave you because you're not man enough like that guys in the army"....!!! that's why I'm only looking for advices from men going through the same thing I'm about to experience. By the way,,, I was thinking about joining the air force too, but not now... I thought maybe in about two years, so when I'm 23-24,,, thats still a good age to join.

thx

  1. Don't be embarrassed hon! just be proud of her and what shes doing for our country! Join The air force not because of her but because of you1

Im a military wife not a man but i think i understand what your saying! Just be proud and don't let any of these fool's make you feel other wise!

  2. I've been in the Air Force for over 9 years and I've been married to my wife for over 7 years.  During that time I've had lots of friends that had civilian husbands.  There's absolutely nothing wrong with it and I've never seen a situation when the woman actually thought her husband wasn't "man enough".

You have nothing to worry about.  If anything, she'll probably think you're cool because none of the strict military rules will apply to you.  You can have piercings, long hair, and a goatee.  I can't have any of those and that sucks.

Anyways, dont get yourself all worked up over this.
