  1. First off find out your own Credit Score. Go to

    http://www.freecreditreport.com to check.

Here's a kicker, At some places, they consider Total Household income. Not YOUR individual income. In such a place you might be able to get a loan all by yourself. Try your local Credit union. they might give some consideration to the fact that your husband has a steady income. Try applying all on your own as well as putting your husband as cosigner for hims income.

Once you have that sorted out, you can visit the dealer and talk only about the lowest price & not payments.

  2. well this can be tricky! May i ask.... Could you get a car just in your name???? You wouldnt be able to use your husbands income thou!!!

I understand the credit is not looking so good it really depends how bad and it doesnt sound so good to me.

If you were te get finance you might be limited to certain amount...

The best thing would to give a car dealer who offers finance a call and have a chat first they maybe able to give you an idea before you apply.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck

  3. I sold cars for 5 years  go into the car dealership tell them you have **** credit but your husband has been at his job 4 years and you have money down they are more than likely going to put you on a new car due to the fact it is easier to fiance a new car than a used car just be honest you are going to have a high interest rate but you get a car.

    Good luck

  4. Okay, let's see...

The first answer I saw on here was right. If you are not working, and your husband's credit is...not the best...then, you are probably S.O.L. for a car that new.

That being said, it doesn't have to be an 07 or 08 to be a "nice" car, depending on what you mean by "nice". My mother drives an 02 Galant...good car, nice looking. I would recommend looking at some older model cars (98-03)...that might help you out a bit...especially if you go for a used. Credit is a really big problem...so, if at all possible, another option would be for you to get some sort of job...part-time if nothing else. who knows? it might help out with getting the car in your name. Good luck to you guys!!
