I've decided after a yr of therapy to write a letter to my physiologist and explain alot of things which i've not been able to answer in person.

Question is....should i give my therapist the letter before our next session so that she can read/digest the info or at our next session???

Your comments are appreciated :)

  1. If you want her to discuss this in your next session, then I would suggest giving it to her before your next session.

  2. Hey.  I do this too, but I usually give it to my therapist in session.  Then at the beginning, my therapist reads it and I wait.  Sometimes the letters are real long and it takes awhile.

I feel better watching my therapist read it while I am there. Then I know that my therapist is really focused on it.  Plus, I don't like my therapist to keep my letters.

Also, some therapists with strong boundaries will not read anything outside "your session."  I think that is c**p, but some won't.

You are going to be nervous either way, because you are about to share some important information with her.  But, do what you think will make you more comfortable.

    Good luck.

  3. I would think if you were not able to answer those in persons, those things might make you embarassed or something like that. If you give her that before next session, she will discuss those with you. Will that make you more uncomfortable? If so, don't give her that in case you wanna end the therapy. Otherwise, doesn't really matter if you give it to her before or after the next session or even after therapy, right?
