d**k Advocaat has urged his side to win the upcoming friendly match against Lithuania national team ahead of Euro 2012
Russian national team will take on Lithuania national football team, after drawing the first friendly match 1-1 against Uruguay at Lokomotiv stadium on Friday, as their Euro 2012 preparations are starting to heat up.
Russia have been drawn against the likes of Greece, Czech Republic and Poland in the group stage of the European tournament. d**k Advocaat, the manager, has urged his side to work harder in the friendly matches in order to prepare
for the upcoming tournament.
There is little arguing that Advocaat has taken some major decisions ahead of the European championship.
The 64-year-old Dutch tactician, who will resign from the managerial post in order to take charge at PSV-Eindhoven in July, has excluded some key members that had played an important role in Euro 2008.

The Russian national team managed to reach the semi-final of the continental tournament after defeating Netherlands 3-1 at St. Jakob-Park. However, they failed to reach the final after suffering a 1-3 defeat against Spain at Ernst

Advocaat is of the belief that his side is ready to face any challenge and will meet their fan’s expectations after having a fabulous European campaign previously.
“It is necessary to put immense pressure on the opponent right from the start. But in general, I am happy with many components of the game against Uruguay.”
“It is difficult to demand best shape from the players after a three-hour flight. Usually we do not train a day before the game but all our thoughts are on the first game of the championship against Czech Republic.” Advocaat was
