d**k Advocaat has spoken about his decision to omit Artem Dzyuba and Magomed Ozdoyev for Euro 2012 and commented on Russian national team’s performance against Uruguay
Russian national team manager, d**k Advocaat, has tried to justify CSKA Moscow’s Kirill Nababkin’s selection in the final 23-man squad for the upcoming European event, Euro 2012.
Advocaat had to make his decision after losing CSKA’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roman-Shishkin-c31646. Both the players have been excluded from the final list following respective injuries.
Advocaat had not named Nababkin in the provisional 26-man squad for the upcoming continental tournament two weeks ago. However, he decided to call the uncapped defender for the first time.
The former Zenit St. Petersburg manager has praised Nababkin, who has made 34 Russian Premier League appearances at the Moscow-based club this season, admitting that the 25-year-old defender is in decent nick of form at the moment.
The UEFA Cup winner, meanwhile, excluded Spartak Moscow’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Artem-Dzyuba-c6682 and Lokomotiv’s Magomed Ozdoyev.
“The reason I've called up one more defender is that if something happens to [Alexander] Anyukov, we will have a back-up on the right position in defence.”
“We had to have a balanced squad with enough defenders, midfielders and attackers. As for Nababkin, I’ve seen him play for CSKA. He has enough international experience.”
