Aleksandr Bubnov sees no reason for the Russian national team to start with Roman Pavlyuchenko against Poland at Euro 2012
Spartak Moscow defender, Aleksandr Bubnov, has conceded that the Russian national team manager, d**k Advocaat, will not make any changes to the starting line-up in the upcoming mouth-watering European encounter against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Poland-c2983 at
Stadion Narodowy on Tuesday.
Media reports in Russia suggest that Advocaat will make changes to the starting eleven in the second group stage game against the White Eagles. If speculations are to be believed, the Dutch tactician is expected play Lokomotiv
Moscow’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aleksandr-Kerzhakov-c4569.
This news came after Kerzhakov failed to impress in the opening group stage game against Czech Republic at Stadion Miejski on Friday. Kerzhakov was replaced by Pavlyuchenko in the second-half against the Narodaks.
There is little arguing the fact that Pavlyuchenko, who joined the Moscow-based club from Tottenham Hotspur in January, made the difference after coming off the bench in the previous game. The Russian Cup winner managed to score
one and assisted another in less than 17 minutes on the pitch.
The 30-year-old striker, who was http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991’s top scorer at Euro 2008, has scored a total of 21 goals for his country till date.
“I am confident that the Russian national team’s starting line-up will not change. This has already been said, by the head coach time and again. I think he will not start with Roman Pavlyuchenko. I do not think that the coach will
take this step.”
“Yes, Zenit’s striker did not realize a lot of opportunities in the game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Czech-Republic-c2882 but he has constantly tormented opponent's defence and was extremely dangerous in the opponent’s penalty box. Lokomotiv’s striker will
not be able to take on a similar role.” The Soviet Cup winner was quoted as saying.
Bubnov has backed Kerzhakov, insisting that though the former Dynamo Moscow forward failed to score a goal for his country, the UEFA Cup winner provided the killer pass which led to the opening goal of the game.
The Russian tactician went to admit that the upcoming match holds immense importance for both sides.
