Question:

Advocating Paedophilia or not?

While trawling Amazon and reading reviews I came across one that threw me. After reading the review I looked up the book in question and now I'm just shocked. I've tried to be objective and see where the author is coming from, but I can't see it as anything but a watered down advocacy of paedophilia. Maybe I'm taking this the wrong way, maybe not. Please read the following reviews and all:

This is a delicate subject that I hesitate to post on, but I'm compelled to know what you think.

  1. Very difficult to gain a solid opinion without reading the book.

Reading the reviews it certainly looks as though the Police should know about it.

The problem is, if a person reads the book, he will automatically be branded a paedophile, if a person condemns the book out of hand he is branded a philistine.

Even if the reviews are nothing to do with the content, there are serious issues with the person that wrote the reviews (with a purpose to titillate).

I stupidly thought we had a book review board in the UK, obviously not.

I also stupidly thought that there was some kind of a decency watch dog in the UK with respect to the Web, again obviously not.

Or, is someone not doing their job in Government again.

  2. You are right, not your usual mediocre ranting material! An interesting postulation though. Sadly most of your answers will come from those who regularly take the moral high ground, and as the reviewer said, blame most child abductions on illegal immigrants and asylum seekers (because that's what they do you know, my mate at the docks told me they eat their own kids and then steal our beautiful babies blah blah blah).

Will read more of the reviews and try and establish an opinion one way or another, however I do get the feeling that the jury may be out a long time on this one.

    Keep 'em coming!

  3. it seems to be a book taking an academic view of Paedophilia and the media hype and fear surrounding the whole topic

i don't think its advocating it rather its making a study of a scary topic.

i haven't read the whole book only what was available on the amazon search inside feature.  but i'm will to bet vast sums of cash it wouldn't turn on a single pervert nor after reading it would a normal person suddenly jump up and start hunting for a child

you are guilty of a knee jerk over reaction

  4. Having briefly looked at the reviews I think what this book is trying to do is to examine the hypocrisy in Western society with regards children and sexuality.  It does not appear to me to be advocating paedophilia.  I think actually that anything that opens up the debate in this area is very important.  A controversial subject!  And as far back as Freud the whole subject of childhood and sexuality has been provoking controversy.

I do however think the cover art on the book has been ill-thought out and will probably attract the wrong sort of person to the book!

  5. It looks to me that it is trying to delve into how and why it happens rather than promote paedophilia. There are some who take the view that by understanding the reasons behind it the problem can be solved.

My view on the other hand is that these people are inherently evil and beyond help and redemption.

  6. I think that just clicking on your link made me sick.  It looks like a sick attempt to destroy children.

  7. I haven't followed the link but there is no way anyone should, or could advocate Paedophilia.

    I'm surprised at Amazon.

  8. As I haven't read the book I can't comment on that but some of the reviews appear to be pro paedophilia and intimate that people should be less antagonistic towards peadophiles on the grounds that they are not the only abusers of children.

This is of course total b******s, all child abuse is intolerable and peado's are the worst of all of them.

Your point is well made and I agree with you.

  9. I concur. the author is trying by use of some pseudo literary razzle dazzle to excuse pedophilia and missing by a country mile. You can use all the flossy language in the world to try to justify the unjustifiable and it will still sound the same, a pathetic attempt to excuse lust for children, a lust which remains, fortunately, unfathomable to most people. I was even more shocked to see so many approving of the book! More pedophiles than I thought.

  10. I have through read the reviews and they do make interesting reading. Initially I found the title a little disturbing, I also find (quote from the book ) "I believe most adults in our culture feel some measure of erotic attraction to children and the childlike; I do not know how it could be otherwise," sorry I don't agree with that statement at all. Rather than just pass judgement on others opinions, I would have to read the entire book myself, only then would I be prepared to say it is or is not Advocating Paedophilia.

  11. Having not read all the reviews or the book I do not feel qualified to comment on the direction the author is trying to go but from the bit I just read it sounded like he was trying to say we as a society are picking on paedophiles more than other types of abusers such as people who beat or starve their children. I think in this day and age a strong line on all types of abuse should be taken by the courts and if adults cant keep it in their trousers and stay away from kids they should have it surgically removed.

  12. Paedophiles are the most insidious and dangerous people on the planet , they will go to any lengths to try to explain there fascination with children by partly blaming the children for there sickness . The one truth that they can never get by is that adults are responsible for their actions children cannot be expected to understand a situation that they have no knowledge of  . Therefore it follows that the adult is totally to blame for any situation no matter how precocious the child . and the adult should be punished in the most severe way that the law can impose, once a child is damaged there whole life can be destroyed . No intelligencer ballsh-t can soften that

  13. I am not some sort of tabloid reading vigilante but that absolutely horrified me.  The first reviewer with his 'anti - paedophile hysteria' really worried me.  Isn't it normal to be against young children being molested.  These are the types of men who think its ok to sleep with 15 year olds etc because 'they arent children anymore'.

    It's disgusting and very scary

  14. What a ridiculous answer f***y!!  You're basically saying 'I don't know and I don't want to know, but Amazon shouldn't publish anything that somebody else thinks might be to do with paedophilia'

    I'm surprised at you f***y!

  15. pedofilia plain and simple.

  16. I've followed the link and read the reviews. I can see nothing that advocates paedophilia.

  17. Well Matey,t started with "g*y" rights. If you become desensitized to one perversion and it becomes legal, then it just opens pandora's box for the next perversion.Bestiality, pedophilia, the list is endless.Thats why sodom and gomorrah met its end.thats why fire rained down on california after g*y perversions were sanctioned.YARGHHHHHHHHHH

  18. no no, look at the cover-it's art!!

man that really is just a tad overboard. I'd obviously have to see the book to make a proper judgement, but I'd definitely think a lot less of anyone who bought it
