  1. I've been a gymnast for five years, and I can tell you the first wrong thing you're doing is slowing down before you go. Then you seem to jump before you go and you go outward and not up and out. Before you jump into your aerial, push off the ground really hard, push off, and tuck your head in, then have your arms in the right position (bent by your ears) and  keep them there. Once you have one foot on the ground, put the pressure on that foot and then balance it out when your other foot hits the ground.

    **EDIT**

Also you're not sticking your landing, you're putting your arms down, and then you're not tight enough.

  2. these other answers are good but you also have to pick up speed do cartwheel picking up speed each time and do repetive jumping bringing your knees to your chest look up "sideswipe" mattmullins as a good book with dvd that teach exercises and how to different tricks

  3. My son, who is a gymnast, says you need to put more energy into your vertical jump for the aerial and stop "hopping" right before your jump... you lose all your momentum and energy there.

You might want to seek out your local gymnastics academy and schedule a private lesson.  They are usually about $40 or $50 an hour and they help martial artists and cheerleaders perfect specific moves all the time.
