Aero Majestic, the fiercest contender in the Bedford Road Midi on 23rd February
The Bedford Road Midi is to be held on Thursday, 23rd February at Henlow. From the six hounds that are participating, the winner is entitled to the £150 prize money.
Among the six on the field, Aero Majestic, Hondo Black’s three-year-old black son out of b***h Rough Illusion, has won five out of the eight starts that he made in the 2012 season. In seven of the races he was entered as a favourite, including an evening’s favourite at two events.
Aero Majestic won a 400 metre race in 23.87 seconds on 3rd January at Romford, leading by nine and a half lengths. On 18th January, he won the Watch Sky Sports Live At Coral Stayers at Romford, raced over 575 metres. Aero Majestic was the 4/6 favourite of the race and won the £500 prize money.
His last three starts have been straight victories, qualifying him for hat trick. He started the trio by winning the Voicenet Mini Stayers on 7th February. Aero Majestic was the evening’s favourite and then won the second heat of the Coral On TV Stayers Trophy on 13th February, yet again he raced as a 4/6 favourite.
The last dot was connected when he won the Coral On TV Stayers Trophy Final on 17th February. The ¼ favourite of the race was awarded the £750 prize money.
There is no other participant with such an impeccable record, it almost seems as if he has stepped into the 2012 season to rule over the races either by winning them or by being their undisputed favourite.
Altamount Ken, Hades Rocket’s three-year-old black son out of b***h Lemon Clare, is another worthwhile entry with bright chances of getting placed at least. He progressed drastically through the six starts that he made during the 2012 season, Altamount Ken finished fourth and then sixth in his very first two starts of the season.
However, after coming third in his third start, Altamount has not ducked down from the runner up’s position.
On 9th February, he won the Bookmakers 550 Maiden at Henlow raced over 550 metres. He was the 7/4 favourite of the race and was through the wire in 33.77 seconds, leading by four lengths.
