Aerospace Maintenance for the Air Force..Do you travel a lot, and is it a bad job?

My dad does maintenance and the specific job he does is called nondestructive inspection, he basically checks the planes for cracks and does X-rays on them and stuff. We've moved about every 4 to 6 years from ohio to california to washington state to delaware then back to washington.
