  1. .........

  2. I had a brother who spent a number of years working as an Aerospace engineer, but what his roll was is hard to define as the work was all considered classified.  I know he was working on design but that is about as much information as we ever got.

  3. Wow sorry dementwood sounds like s/he is in a bad situation! Welcome to the "business" world where people who have no clue vastly out number those who can actually figure things out... although I don't think this has anything to do with aerospace engineering - there are stupid manipulative people in all fields.

Anyway aerospace engineers usually get into the field to design space ships or become astronauts or something like that. Then they find that no one will pay them to do that fun stuff and most get stuck designing weapons systems, bombs, and other nasty ways to kill bad guys. I suppose the $$'s as good as any engineering career, but you've got to be OK with that. Engineers like to see their work thru from ideas into reality, and it's more fun to talk about the Mars probe you designed than the cluster bomb. And if you do like talking about the cluster bomb you'll probably get arrested for disclosing classified info... Good Luck!

  4. I'm a mechanical engineer. From what I notice no one wants to design anything because they don't know how. They were only hired because they took a three year class. So what ends up happening is most of those so called engineers are just making money sucking as not designing things. It's frustrating. I'm the only one trying to innovate new things while everyone else is hiding things from me so they can feel needed. ..........Good luck

  5. Aerospace engineers design all sorts of space vehicles, but they work closely with mechanical, electronic,  composite, electrical, and a host of other engineers and scientists. The aero wants to design the vehicle with minimum drag, maximum lift, high maneuverability, the structural engineer wants it to be easy to fabricate and test. The radar guy wants low observability, The fuel man wants to have easy to fabricate fuel cells that don't leak. The pilots want to have easy access to controls, and the propulsion engineer plays a big part in engine placement.

I think you get the picture! This is why the vehicles are now designed on the computers and all of the various groups have access to the design.
