Afan Hawk to claw away the Stadium Bookmakers 595 at Oxford
Bound to make the Stadium Bookmakers 595 a challenging race for the rest of the contenders is the four-year-old, Afan Hawk. Sharing the 595 metres flat track with him on Thursday, 5th July are Swift Tilly, Bail Out Blues, Millbank Brennan, Soundslikeaplan
and Ardmayle Player.
Westmead Hawk’s four-year-old black and white son won four out of the seven times that he raced after the last training session.
The S. Howard trained declared dominance in his seasonal debut on 28th February, 2012 at Swindon by coming from the middle, and leading the race to settle it in 30.38 seconds.
The four-year-old was drilled over 263 metres at Coventry on 3rd May, 2012 that he accomplished in 16.06 seconds.
On 10th May, the son out of b***h, Afan s**y Eyes, won a 485 metres race at Coventry. He did not fall into an early pace, but did lead and finalised the trip in 29.50 seconds.
He then won the 1st June Standard – Division D on 9th June at Conventry over 485 metres. Even though Afan Hawk set into an early pace, he had to break free from the crowd in order to finish strongly in 29.89 seconds. The runner up,
Movealong Joker, gave him only a short head’s margin to squeeze from, and finished the race in 29.89 seconds.
The black and white hound got the 485 metres race at Coventry under his control by reaching the other end of the wire in 29.34 seconds on 23rd June. He set into an early pace after breaking from the second stall and then leading for the rest of
the distance.
Qualifying as the runner up after racing through the 8 ¾ length gap was, Faypoint Annie.
Tossing in a pair of wins, the four-year-old won the Stadium Bookmakers 595 on 28th June at Oxford over 595 metres. The evening’s favourite raced from the middle, and led from the sixth position, taking 12.77 seconds to race through the wire.
Getting defeated by a length was, Uncle Des who took 37.52 seconds to join the winner on the other end of the wire.
He is highly likely to bag the £150 prize money tonight.
