Affane Master to bounce back in the Owners’ Bonus Series – Heat 1
The M. Locke trained, Affane Master, is being sent as the joint favourite with, Tieraclea for the Grade 5 Owners’ Bonus Series – Heat 1 on Wednesday, 8th August, 2012 at Romford over 400 metres flat. Contesting for the £112 prize money are You Have That, Premarket Babe, Jumbos Illusion and Lynton Jack.
The four-year-old has been racing since the previous two seasons and has raced at Romford primarily, a few times in between he tried his luck at Wimbledon too, and had some training sessions there as well.
Ballymac Kewell’s son won the seasonal debut on 25th January, 2012 at Wimbledon over 480 metres hurdle. Leading from the first spot and then the fourth got him the race in 30.17 seconds with the ¾ of a length margin right under his belt.
To retain his form the trainer, M. Locke, went for a third training sessions ever since the new season took off. The effort went futile as the black dog fell victim to an almost never ending series of unfortunate defeats. The gloomy phase for the four-year-old remained from February to July, making winning prohibitive.
Without a training session this time, the black son out of, Ballymac Peg, struck a back-to-back.
Affane Master won the Grade A6 400 metres flat on 9th July, 2012 at Romford. He broke out of the sixth trap and set into an early pace. Racing wide, he led from the fourth position, and timed the track distance in 25.01 seconds while winning by the margin of 2 ¼ lengths.
Finishing the closest to the winner was, Kingsmill Zara.
The four-year-old black hound then retained composure for the Grade A6 400 metres flat on 14th July, 2012 at Romford over 400 metres. Leading from the fourth spot after going wide settled the track distance in a matter of 25.23 seconds.
He won by the margin of 3 ½ lengths and set Finlays Silver as the runner-up.
The three last races that followed in after the paired up wins saw the hound yet again falling back to the losing routine. This time however it was not as worse as before because he ended third twice and then ranked fourth.
