Affects of global cooling/warming on environment.?

I have heard that Egypt was born out of drought. Much of the desert lands in Africa used to be tropical. The cause for the change was global cooling. I have heard that a cooler climate, not a warmer one, actualy creates more deserts. Best I can figure, cooler means less ocean evaperation, less humidity, less persipitation, and thus more deserts. Granted any change over a large are such as forest to bare earth will affect things such as wind, high and low pressure systems. Where can I find more info and answers on these therories? Thanks.

It is hard to say that one or the other will create more droughts or rain in general.  What we do know is that it will change the climate in many regions creating more drought in some areas and more rain in some areas.  

It is still uncertain what areas there will be drastic change in climate.  The IPCC (intergovernmental panel on climate change) has models that have been made to try and predict what the weather patterns will be in certain regions and how precipitation will change.

These models have been tested against historical climate data and found to be relatively accurate.

You could try a primitive ecosystem diversity search. Some actually show a comparison between current and ancient systems. Your right though trade winds and plate tectonics have played a large part in the ecological development of certain global regions.

I checked the newspaper this morning and guess what? Nothing in there about ACTUAL dire consequences of GW. No one drowned, the ocean did not cover up Texas, the polar bears are doing just fine, no BIG increase in bad weather or hurricanes, yellow fever, and malaria, are still confined to a small belt around the equator. HUM--- so must be NO affects!
