Affidavit / letter of support- Need to invite my parents from India to visit me in canada.

Hi I need to ask how to get a letter / affidavit of support for may parents . I am in canada on a work permit and waiting for my PR ( applied under Quebec Skilled workers prog). I want to invite my parents to visit me and thus need to send them a letter / affidavit of support so that their Visit Visa can be applied for. Can someone please guide me how to do so? Is there a form I can download from Immigration website? In US it is I-130. Also, do I have to get it certified by a notary? PLease help... Thanks

The letter you need is called a Letter of Invitation. It is needed for a visitor's Visa to show a reason for the person to visit.

There is no form; it is a letter that you write yourself containing specific details (check the link below). You will need to check with the Visa office to see whether it needs to be notarized.

You mention you are currently here on a work permit. Only citizens and PRs can write a letter of invitation, you you'll need to wait for your PR to be approved.
