We have just got package 3 of the fiancee visa. one of the forms is the affidavit of support. who fills that in and where should we send it when its done?

  1. You fill it in (The petitioner/US citizen)  then send it to your fiancee.


  2. The person filing for the fiance fills in the AOS.  Basically it states that you make a certain amount of money and the person you are bringing over here will not fall onto the welfare roles.  The USCIS website will tell you the minimum that you must make and where to send the form.  (If you did not get instructions with the form).  You may need a co-sponsor if your income and assets are not enough to meet the government minimum.  Make sure you have it notarized before sending it in or they'll shoot it right back to you.

  3. you, the sponsor/petitioner must complete and sign the affidavit of support form. the affidavit of support form is filed when your fiancee has been scheduled for an immigrant visa interview with a consular officer overseas or when your finacee is about to submit an application for adjustment to permanent resident status (form i-485) with the USCIS.
