EC1 covers Old Street to Liverpool Street - ish.

Around Liverpool street you have brick lane which is full of indian restaurants that vary in price.

This is near old street - vietnamese - slightly unusual and good food

You could take a look at the Top Table or Square Meal websites - both list restaurants by price of a meal...  Hope you find somewhere and have a good meal.
