I'm about to set up my first online webstore selling clothes. Could anyone suggest an affordable website builder (drag and drop because I'm not familiar with html) and website hosting? I hear there are free ones available. Where could I get information about this?

  1. Do not use free webhosting for an ecommerce store. You will never be taken seriously, and if something goes wrong, who do you complain to? Nobody, because you are not paying for a service.

Yahoo is probably the best for a beginner ecommerce store. Check out their Small Business link on their homepage.  Pricing starts at around $40 month, plus a % of sales. I have hosted with Yahoo ecommerce  for 5 years.

Also if you purchase Dreamweaver, a "drag and drop" web editor, Yahoo has a plug in that allows you to very easily add your store products to your website.

  2. I really love the support and pricing of host gator they are really great and I was with them since 2003. Check this entry for your info http://alexanderallard.com/product/recom...   ... you will love it for sure.

  3. i found this website very usefull

    http://www.web-host-finder.net

it has compared top 10 web hosting companies in a chart and will show the most reliable and affordable web hosting company

it has reviews for each web hosting company that will really help you to find the best web hosting provider company

and there are lots of articles about web hosting and internet.

I would recommend Bluevoda by vodahost:

    http://www.vodahost.com/partner/idevaffi...

Although there are other advanced website builders like dreamweaver, but I recommend the above because of the following reasons:

    1. Dreamweaver takes some 15-20 days just to get acquiented. But with bluevoda you can get started in just 15-20 mins.

    2. There is no drag and drop in dreamweaver, but that is available in Blue Voda

    3.  Dreamweaver costs around $300 but bluevoda is free

    4. Most websites won't need the advanced features available in dreamweaver. whereas almost everything required to design a good webpage is available on bluevoda.

Yes, its free. you may download bluevoda for free from here:

  5. I recommend http://www.hosttell.com/one They are one of the leading European web hosting companies, currently hosting over 500 000 websites. They have plans starting from $1.45/month. Every plan includes Photo Gallery, WebEditor (so you can build a website without knowledge of HTML), Google Adwords coupon (so you can advertise your website on google for free) and a lot more. Check them out.

  6. Try 000webhost.com. I'm not sure that they have a site builder, but they offer free hosting. You can probably find free html editor software where basically you design the site and it creates the code for you. However it is probably going to be difficult to do what you want without knowledge of asp or php programming languages.
