Despite, Rangers’ general manger Jon Daniels, who was very determined to talk to Wilson about his future with them said, “We're also realistic on what happens when the top free agents get to this point done. The market is what it is.”
But this later decision by the Rangers’ top management is suggesting a clear way forward for C.J. Wilson. Wilson’s free agency has already gained much popularity when many teams which include the Boston Red Sox, Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees showing
an interest to sign him.
Still no news has come from Wilson about where he is heading in the future. According to some baseball experts, the Los Angeles Angels are the real contenders to convince him to play in their franchise. The Angels’ management has already met with Wilson
and his agent and speculations are high as he might try his future with the Angels next season.
C.J. Wilson is certainly a very talented and experienced player and any MLB team will love to offer him a multi-year contract. His game has improved in those six years that he played in the Rangers roster and now is considered one of the best pitchers in
the current Major League Baseball era.
This year, he went 2.94 ERA, along with 16-7 (win loss) record, 206 total strike-outs and 1.19 WHIP. It will be very interesting to see where Wilson ends up and what type of contract he will be given. There is no doubt that he is a tremendously talented
pitcher capable of restricting any top tier batting line-up on a given day.
The Rangers will be hoping that Wilson re-signs with them as they are looking to maintain some depth in their pitching line-up for the 2012 MLB regular season.
