Faisalabad Wolves defeated Afghan Cheetas by 13 runs in a Group B match of the ongoing Faysal Bank Twenty20 Cup, at the National Stadium Karachi, on Thursday, September 29, 2011.
Chasing Faisalabad’s target of 146, only a couple of Afghans, Gulbodin Naib and Karim Sadiq, played well, whereas the rest of the batsmen could not even touch double figures.
With a strong batting line-up, it was not a tough decision for the Faisalabad captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972, to go for batting first after winning the crucial toss.
Asif Hussaun and Asif Ali opened the innings for the Wolves and put together 26 runs for the first-wicket-stand. Ali, who added just 14 runs to the total, became the first victim and was dismissed by Gulbodin Naib.
After his fall, Hussain and the wicket-keeper batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Salman-c77287, gave a supporting hand to their side by sharing an excellent 52-run-partnership.
A huge mix-up became the cause of Hussain’s dismissal, who collected 30 runs during his stay at the wicket.
In the next over, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Salman-c88163 also lost his concentration after contributing 32 runs.
Two quick wickets imposed immense pressure on Misbah and company. As a result, none of succeeding batsmen including the skipper, could put up a notable performance.
Misbah got out after collecting 16, while the veteran, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Naved-Latif-c78900, gifted his wicket after scoring just two runs.
Later in the innings, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Imran-Khalid-c1585 gathered 11 runs.

Taraki charmed eight runs, while Sami left the crease without opening his account.
The Wolves were on top after picking up two early wickets but Naib stepped up and spoiled their party.
Sadiq gave full support to the youngster and both players amassed 85 runs for the third-wicket-partnership.
