Afghan Cheetas v Multan Tigers – Faysal Bank T-20 Cup – Group B – Toss Report
Afghan Cheetas have won the toss against Multan Tigers and have decided to bat first in the Faysal Bank T-20 tournament, currently being played at the National Stadium Karachi, September 30, 2011.
Talking at the toss report, Afghan skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Nabi-c77111, was disappointed to have lost their previous two matches but was happy with the experience the team gained from playing in their first ever T20 tournament.
He also said that although the team cannot qualify for the semi-finals, they will give a good account of themselves in their final match against Multan Tigers. Batting first, the skipper says the team hoped to put on 160 on the board, which he feels will
be a good total on this track.
Their opponents, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shabbir-Ahmed-c89244, said that the team will bounce back from a disappointing campaign and try to win their final match. He
also praised the other teams, whom he felt played better cricket than his side.
Earlier the pitch inspection, which was made by ex-seamer and analyst, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sikander-Bakht-c90277, showed that the track was shiny and bouncy. Regarding the previous fixture in the tournament, Sikander mooted that this is the best track to bat on and it will be ideal
for playing shots on the up.
He also believed that as the day progresses, the pitch will tend to get rough.
As far as the Group B standings are concerned, which also include Faisalabad Wolves and Rawalpindi Rams, both teams are currently undefeated in the tournament and outplayed the Multan and Afghan teams to win convincingly.
Pride is at stake for both teams who will want to bow out of the tournament on a high.
The crunch fixture in this group will be between the top two teams from Faisalabad and Rawalpindi respectively, which will lock horns in the second match of the day to decide who will progress to the semi-final stage of the competition.
