The India Under-19s won the toss and elected to bat first, getting off to a flying start with the in-form opening duo of Prashant Chopra (67) and skipper Unmukt Chand (70).

Nevertheless, the India
U-19s managed to finish at a respectable total of 271.
Afghanistan’s innings had the same features which had characterised India’s time at the crease – an early burst, followed by a complete lower order collapse.
Wicketkeeper batsman Afsar http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Khan-c71319 (21) and skipper Javed Ahmadi (50) opened the innings for their side, with a 42-run opening stand. The former fell prey to Vikas Mishra in the 8th over, and Hashmatullah Shaidi (32) was up next.

slide for the Afghan team.
