Openers http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Javed-Ahmadi-c66518 (23) set up an opening stand of 34 runs, which came to an end with Ahmadi’s dismissal at the hands of Chamod Pathirana in the 8th over. Hashmatullah Shaidi (27) was up next, and his 26-run stand
with Shabir Noori got the side up to 60 before the latter was sent packing by Madushanka.
Abdur Mangal managed a meagre contribution of 17 runs, but Mohibullah Paak stuck it out at the crease, top scoring for his side with 44. By the time he was dismissed via run-out, the Afghanistan U-19s had reached 172 for 7 by the 45th over. Aftab

However, the Sri Lanka U-19s breezed through the chase, losing only 3 wickets in the process. Pabasara Waduge (33) and Shehan Fernando (19) got the team off to a solid start, setting up an opening stand of 42 runs. Fernando fell prey to Yamin Ahmadzai in
the 12th over, and Waduge was dismissed by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Nasir-c78728 Ahmadzai in the 22nd.
Player of the Match Dickwella, however, emerged as the anchor of the innings, remaining not out at 76, and followed up his 44-run stand with Waduge, with a 56-run partnership with Angelo Jayasinghe (23). By the time Jayasinghe was dismissed by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Aftab-Alam-c945
