Afghanistan and the United Nations?

Afghanistan is a member of the United Nations. Let us assume that Afghanistan was not a member, what reasons would you use to recommend Afghanistan as a member?

-govt in control

  1. Afghanistan is disqualified to be a member of the United Nations because it harbors terrorism by providing training camps to Al Qaida.

Well, it does have a functioning government.  At least it is much better functioning than the previous government.  The economy is increasing, although a good portion of it is devoted to the illegal cultivation of poppies.  It seems that they are still having issues with political turmoil and terrorism, but the security situation is vastly improved for just a few years ago.  It is much better of a candidate than someone like Iraq.
