The Taliban have blown up the prison gates.

1000 prisoners have escaped.

Some are senior key Taliban figures.

It has taken years of occupation to put these in prison

What is being achieved?

This war started in 2001.

Will this occupation ever end.

It seems the longer we are there - the more they are able to recruit.

It just goes on and on.

What is the point?

What is being achieved?

If another country's army occupied your country what would you do? Would you want to join the resistance movement?

  1. No they are trying to help, occupy is an emotive word, it brings up ideas of n**i occupation of France.

Run off when the going gets tough or there's a problem, good idea and two years down the line when planes are flying into buildings you do what?

  2. I know who the heck knows these days right? lol

But all I know is if America is still at danger.... which it is... I think we shouldn't.

  3. I thought the purpose of the 'escape' was to allow our troops to shoot dead any dangrous escaping prisoners!

You mean we haven't done that?

Another country's army is occupying my country.

This is the UK where there are thousands of American service personnel and their families.  Few if any of these people ever venture beyond their bases for fear of meeting a Brit.

It's not a joke - I'm 67 and know perfectly well that the Yanks have been here in their thousands since WW2 - they did not go home.

  4. So you think when the going gets tough, the tough wuss out.  I think that a lot of good has been done and there are a lot more free Iraqi's now than with Saddam.

  5. Great another 1000 targets to shoot at.

  6. Yep, we should run away at the first setback.

    What are you, French??

  7. I dunno

    such a quagmire

  8. Yes we should pull out we shouldn't have gone in to Afghanistan in the first place. There is no point. The only thing being achieved is the growth in opium production. I probably would want to join the resistance movement. I definitely wouldn't join forces with the occupiers.

  9. So, you're saying the US policy should be turn tail and run?  Just wondering.
