Afghanistan won the first match of the Cricket http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Canada-c748 Summer Festival against Trinidad & Tobago by 35 runs after posting a total of 138 runs at Maple Leaf North-West Ground, King City.
After winning the toss, Afghanistan chose to bat first, hoping to put enough runs on the board in the twenty over game to restrict the opposition from overcoming the target.
Openers http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Karim-Sadiq-c70298 started the innings for their side, however, the openers failed to give a solid opening as on the first ball of the second over, Noori lost his stumps after getting completely beaten by a delivery bowled by 30-year-old
Trinidad & Tobago pacer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rayad-Ryan-Emrit-c84273. The batsman walked back to the pavilion after playing a mini innings of five runs on seven deliveries.
On the second delivery of the fifth over, Afghanistan lost their number three batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Richard-Alexander-Kelly-c84843.
At the time of the batsman’s departure the Afghan squad had managed to post 22 runs on the board for the loss of two wickets.
In the next over, crisis hit Afghanistan as they lost their third wicket and this time opener Sadiq was the one who walked off the field after playing an innings of 15 runs off 15 deliveries. The batsman was caught at mid-wicket by the Trinidad & Tobago
skipper Daren Ganga off the bowling of Emrit.
While wickets kept falling at regular interval, it was the belligerent innings by the Afghan skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Nawroz-Mangal-c2084, who clobbered 78 runs off just 47 deliveries as he helped his side post a competitive tally on the board.
Coming out to bat Trinidad & Tobago needed batsmen to stay on the crease in order to win the game.

Trinidad & Tobago never managed to recover from this disaster as wickets kept on falling regularly. It was only Barath who kept his side’s hopes up as he smashed 30 runs off 36 deliveries; however, he also fell to his demise in the 14th over when
he was caught at deep mid-wicket by Gulbodin Naib off the bowling of Hamza Hotak. In the end Trinidad & Tobago could only muster 103 runs in response to Afghanistan’s tally.
From Afghanistan Nawroz Mangal was named as the Man of the Match for playing a commendable knock with the bat.
