Aflac insurance sales position?

Question

I'm currently studying for the Texas insurance license exam. I've been hired on by Aflac and just wanted to see if there are any Aflac sales agents out there that could give me some advice about the biz, payschedule, or the test for that matter.

I don't wish to discourage you but there is a very high percentage of wash out with Aflac.  Most (over 90%) don't make it past the first year.  They only sell supplemental insurance and it is a very hard thing to sell.  For details concerning the pay schedule, etc., I suggest that you contact your local CofC and see if there is an Aflac agent who is a member.  Contact the agent to see what their experience has been.

Unless you have already signed a contract, I would suggest that you acquire your license and then go to work for a full service agency.  That could be an independent or an exclusive agency, but either way you will gain a much broader knowledge of the insurance marketplace and, since you will have many more products to offer, your chances of success will be much greater.
