Afraid of dark how to solve it

ok my lil bro is 12 he dont wont no one to know hes afaraid of the dark cuz of movies and comersials and how would he get rid of his fear of it

have him confront his fears  you stay with him and talk him thru it  show him  you dont have to fear the dark

im 17 and afraid of the dark STILL lol.. jsut a think i dont think i'lll ever get out of. idk though i leave the landin light on and the door open a little so like it aint all fully on and stuff but my mom moans about electric bill blah blah lol.. try a lamp that isent gonna shine so bright over him so he can still sleep.. idk =)

yeah... wrong place for the question, but- bring him outside at night a couple times to get the mail. turn his bedroom lights off. challenge him to walk around in the dark or something.

Get together and go into the bathroom.  Turn out the lights and try to be silly about it.  Like the flash the lights on and off like a disco and may silly  ghost sounds really loud like, Whhhhoooooo, whooooooooooooo!! Try to laugh about it.  He will get used to it in a fun way.
