Afraid of riding a airplane?

I am traveling for 6 and a half hours in 2 days to get to NY and i am afraid. I keep seeing plane crashes on youtube and im always afraid before i get on the plane that it will crash does any one know the percentage or odds of my plane crashing on monday, 2 days?

Don't worry, your flight will land safe. As a pilot, my number one priority is get you on the ground saftely, as is the job of every commercial pilot in the world. the two people piloting your a/c know what they are doing and will do everything possible to get you there safely. Also, the odds of being in a plane crash of any type are 1 to 500,000, so thats a large number

The odds of any plane crashing is about 1 in a million, but for that one plane, the odds are 100%.

You can't look at the odds, they mean nothing. if a million minus 1 plane has previously flown does than mean the next one will crash? NO.

Don't worry about the plane crashing. You should be more worried about the taxi ride to and from the airport. Driving is way more dangerous than flying.

Airplanes are safer than riding in a car.  Dont be so scared.  It can be a little scary on the take off and landing if your not used to it.  Odds are slim to none that you will crash especially if youre on a commercial flight.  The planes are so big that they rarely crash and the ride is usually really smooth.  Be sure to let the flight attendant know that you are afraid of flying and theyll take every step to ensure that you are comfy.
