African-American Achievement Association?

Question

In my school, I want to make this club in my school. At my school, we have a korean club and hispanic club. I want something to help represent the hardworking African- American students at our school. What types of things would our club do in, for, and outside of the school?

I will award the best answer and 10 points to the person who gives the best and most answers.!!!

Well you guys could have frequent discussions abut topics that pertain to the african american community. You guys could also volunteer in poorer communities and do like tutoring or something and be positive examples for the minority children there. You could also give awards for members of the club getting certain Gpas, hold a culture day and bring in food, and other things that represent your culture and teach others about it.

You could start a group of students that tutor younger students at the elementary level. It would also be great if you could start getting the youth into public speaking and community service.

With all the hillbillies on yahoo answers these days, why would you ask these people to help you?

They can go and celebrate Black History month, and maybe decorate the school walls and such. Also, you can all get up and recognition day for African Amer students who get a certain GPA. Also, support a children's charity in Africa and try to get other ethnicity's in on the charity. Outside of school you can have get togethers to be a big brother or sister to other Black children who may need one.

I never been one big on clubs of any type, but I would recommend you look up african america clubs online and get ideas from them.
