Question:

African American Natural Hair?

I just recently went natural. I know a lot of the facts:

-don't use products with petrolatum and mineral oil at the first of the ingredients

- don't sleep on cotton because it absorbs oil

-wrap hair in silk scarf

-use shea butter, olive oil, and natural ingredients

-wash once a week

I just have a few questons...

I bought pink moistririzer oil today, and in the ingredients it has petrolatum and mineral oil, but it's not at the beginning. It's more towards the end.Is it still not really good for mty hair?

I bought Jam Extra Hold also and I have no idea if that is good or bad for my hair?(It's just for the edges)

I am going to start using Carol's Daughter products soon but these are just for now.

Lastly, does anyone have any hair style links I could do that a quick and simple and don't require a hairstylist AND any more tips.

Thanks in advance :)

  1. I never really liked Pink Oil even though they changed the formula. Most people hate it because it's basically grease but you might be the one of the few who like it. I say try it out and if it work keep it. Whatever you do make sure you don't use it on your scalp (just your hair) you don't want to clog your pores. I don't know about Jam Extra Hold. For my edges I use IC Fantasia Gel but if Jam Extra Hold has alcohol (a drying agent) in it then I would say it's bad. If it doesn't then it should be o.k to use. Sorry I don't have any links for natural hairstyles. Maybe if you try http://www.nappturality.com and search the forum then maybe you could find something.
