  1. My gf has an African grey, prob about the same age as yours. He wont let any one get him out of the cage except her Mom. thats because she is who has has the closest bond with. Did you get the bird as a adult or a baby?

  2. give him/her some time

  3. If he was mine,I would quickly show him to a vet.Because they are animal & have diffrent reqirments than human.Grays love to be out an play( like other parrots).

Anyway, you had better treat carefully.

  4. Hi,

It sounds like he is cage bond. He has spent to much time in his cage. The cage has become his whole world, he dose not feel secure outside of it.

Start by taking his food away from him before bed and then give him his fresh Veg and fruits first thing in the morning, but place the food bowl outside and on top of hie cage, up high where he will feel safe. Then when he is finshed you can give him his pellets.

Give him all the out time you can. This did not happen over night and it will take work on your part to get him back..

  5. Someone might need to change his cage position and you can try to have him step up on a dowel if he is biting.

  6. You should put a treat or something he likes outside the cage or if he's aggressive when u take him out of the cage you should restart the taming process.

  7. leave the cage open and evetulelly he,ll come out

  8. talk to him.. say oh pretty birds come out of their cage.. i know it sounds stupid but talk to it like its a toddler.. it wants to come out but it prolly wants a reward for it.. our birds love skittles and sprees.. try that.. it'll like it before it tastes it cuz of the color.. TRY IT!!! :D
