African americans : where did your ancestors came from?

Well mate it is obvious afro Americans came from the same place as did the Asians,whites,blacks,Arabs,Jews,Eskimos,... We all came from Africa.

Well actually We all hav ethe same ancestors....and we all almost came from africa......and it doesn't just have ot be black people...

Alos another note: Anyone can be african american your nationality can be caucasion but be born in africa the n brought to america and be considered african american....

It varies with the African-American.But a large percentage of AA do not know exactly where there ancestors come from b/c most were brought here by slave ship.

I am constantly amazed at how many people fall for that "Out of Africa" theory! When the people came out of Africa, there were already people living in Spain & France making wonderful cave drawings!  Let's face it: if people "Came Our of Africa" 100,000 years ago, then obviously they were not the ancestors of all humans as the ealiest human fossils in Europe, featured right here on Yahoo! was 1.4 million years old!

There is just as much evidence that humans developed around the world independently; but of course, wars really blurred the origins and distinctions of early humans.

If you want to subscribe to "Out of Africa", "Descended From Apes", and the "Big Bang", go ahead; but read the other theories also.

As to most of AAs coming here on slave ships: most Americans came here either as outright slaves or "indentured servants". For those of you who forgot your American History (or never read it) that is the way things were done back then.  Machines were very primitive and required a lot of man power; where there were no machines, it was brute strength (human and animal) that got the work done.

No one would willingly do that work!
