Question:

African frogs?

I just got 2 african frogs the other day, and the first day I had them in the tank they were very active. Today they aren't. They are in with 2 Bala sharks and a Sucker fish. The one is hiding around the top by the water spout for the tank. He was there for so long that this morning I thought he was dead when I woke up. I went to go take him out of the tank...and he's alive.

My questions is...are these guys active, do they like to be lazy a lot, or am I just worrying too much? I couldn't really find too much on their activity level anywhere so any help is appreciated...thanks much!

  1. I don’t know about this type of African frog specifically, but most reptiles and amphibians are lethargic unless they are stimulated.  Stimuli can be hunger, thrust, temperature, or stress.  I know my snake is hungry when he starts to move around a lot.  Otherwise he simply lies around most of the time.

  2. Maybe your just worrying to much...And there probably just settling down dont ya think? I have a cuban tree frog who was really active and now hes not. he's doing great, still jumps and eats.
