OK so normally I use a relaxer every 6 weeks......for the past years maybe like 5 years. But I was wondering if I would get the same results if I just put some anti breakage shampoo(Tresseme), a Deep conditioner(Aussie), a Leave in conditioner, some heat protectant, then blow dry and flat iron my hair. I never used a flat iron on my hair before so I was just wondering if I would get the same results because it would be easier to grow my hair longer this way I assume. And every week I would put in some John Frieda Relaxing Creme. And lastly If I decide to flat iron my hair how often would I have to straighten it to get results like I do with my relaxer.(every day ? every 2 days? every week?)Thanks in advance.=] and my hair isnt really coarse at all.

  1. You would have to use the flat iron each time you washed it in order to get it straight.  Have you thought about thermal reconditioning?  I had it done, it was $150 and I love it.  I don't have to do anything.. just wash and go.

I dont know where you live but i live in Nj and I had it done in queens, NY    Here's a link to their website

  2. well your not going to get the same results but using a relaxer has done tons of damage to your hair so you should try a hot oil treatment or just let some olive oil sit on your hair for about 30 minutes then wash it out and use a leave in conditioner after you wash your hair everyday

  3. When you get a relaxer, it's permanent.  You can, however, flatiron your hair in the way you described.  But most importantly you need to know that most flat irioning will last about a week.  But when you flat iron, and you get your hair wet at all it will return back to its original curly state.

  4. DO NOT flat iron your everyday as I am telling you girl, you literally be left with stringy and lifeless hair. I been there. Better yet, hardly straighten your hair. When I dont relax my hair, I DONT shampoo my hair, just CONDITION it. Use an organic conditioner (amazonia, leaves you hair shiny and healthy), wrap it with a plastic cap or a heating cap or better yet, if you have what I have, a bulit in wall hairdryer, leave it on for 30 mins, wash out and blow dry straight with a thermal heating brush and voila my hair looks better than when relaxed. If you do plan to starighten your hair frequently, use a leave in conditioner (Redken) to protect from heat or Mostuirizing heat lotion (Olive oil)

  5. i think you would.
