Skimmer is a good researcher.  The Wikipedia has a good selection of articles on the Mythology of many cultures.  There are literally thousands of people from all over the world who have an interest in seeing their cultures presented fully and in their best lights.  That is one place they go.  There are categories of African Mythology and African Legendary creatures.  Here is the latter:

    In it you will find the Mokele-Mbebe, the vampiric Impudulu which is an evil lightning bird, and the tiny Abatwa who sound like great warriors.
