  1. If you plan on going to zimbabwe, go to kariba, victoria falls or chirundu. I haven't been back since december 2004, and the stories i hear are horrifying. My cousin went back in March, he said that Chirundu and Kariba are probably the best places to be during the current situation, mostly because if you're there he says that you wouldn't think zimbabwe is so corrupt.

Enjoy africa, by far the best place EVER... in my opinion.

    =)

  2. Comming to SA is more than just safari's. Dont worry, once you are here you will soon find entertaining things to do. Dont know anything about a calf festival. Cant be that of a big deal if you cant find info about it. Suncity to cape town is about 13 hrs drive but and a 2hr flight.  Johannesburg and Cape Town have hot springs. Find out at your hotel, they can advise you more on that.

  3. I have never heard of this Calf Festival, and find very little mention of it. It is also known as the "Kalfie fees" which is Afrikaans for calf festival:

"Each year a traditional whale festival is held. Prior to this a "Kalfie Fees" (Calf Festival) is held to welcome the first whales to the bay. Each festival is host to craft and food stalls, drama productions and live local bands. This is an occasion not to be missed."

For hot springs, check out this:

Of those mentioned above, Caledon is the closest to Hermanus, and then Montagu which is also in the Western Cape.

I suggest that if you want to google something about South africa, then use http://www.google.co.za/ and click on pages from South Africa, then you will get a better search result.

I do not know how long you intend spending in Africa, because Zambia, Zimbabwe, Morocco and Madagascar are in all different directions of the compass.  Morocco is right in the North and Hermanus right in the South of Africa.

Depending on what areas you are intending visiting, there is a lot to see.  Of course, August is still wintertime in South Africa, but there is still plenty to see.

There are bushman paintings (san rock art) and hot springs in the Cederberg:

    the observatory in Sutherland:

the Garden Route is very scenic:

    The Cango Caves are spectacular

    The Ostrich Farms

    Crocodile farm

Monkeyland is also on the Garden Route

    :

Cape Town can take a few days to explore.

To get to Sun City from Cape Town, it would be best to fly to Johannesburg and take transport from there:
