Afridi calls English tour most difficult of life
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482 has described the recently concluded series against Pakistan as one of the most difficult series of his cricket career.

Pakistan had gone to England to play http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 in a couple of T20Is and Tests, before they played the hosts in four Tests, five ODIs and two T20Is. However, the completion of the Test matches also saw allegations of match-fixing surface out against the Pakistani
players. This was also the same time when Afridi had returned back to England to lead the side in the shorter version of the game.

Afridi said that it was a very tough series given the controversies that the side was involved in. He also said that the Pakistani side was taunted each time they went out of the hotel and that only added to the problems. Afridi praised his players by saying,
“The best part of the whole tour was that the players showed unity even in difficult times and gave a good fight in the one-day series against England.”

Afridi was not the only one complaining. Even the Pakistani coach, Waqar Younis, said that the support staff of all the coaches and physiotherapists amongst the rest had a difficult time in keeping the players cheerful. Younis said that they had been playing
for four months in succession including the Asia Cup in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 and the players were tired both, physically and mentally.

Afridi also hinted at a possible comeback in the Test match format of the game after he had announced his retirement from it. Afridi had been handed over the reign of all the three formats but after just one Test match against Australia, Afridi had announced
his retirement from the Tests and the captaincy was passed over to Salman Butt.

However, Butt was then alleged to have been involved in the spot-fixing that took place in the fourth Test match at Lord’s and was provisionally suspended by the International Cricket Council.

When asked about whether he would consider making a comeback to the Test side, Afridi said, “I will think about it and if the team needs it, I may consider playing the Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757.”
